LG has officially unveiled the G3, the company's follow-up to last year's impressive G2 Android smartphone. The LG G3 shares some similarities to last year's model, but the new flagship also comes with some major upgrades.
On the front, the G3 features a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD display, resulting in an incredibly high pixel density of 538ppi—the G2 used a 5.2-inch 1080p display. Like its predecessor, the G3 sports slim bezels around all sides of the screen, which could make the larger display easier to handle.
The casing is made out of a lightweight metallic material that looks much like the HTC One (M8), and on the backside you'll see that the rear hardware buttons have returned. These function much the same as they did with the G2 and the curved G Flex—which provide power and volume buttons, as well as a way to quickly access some functions—although now utilize a new design. The center button is flatter and uses a metallic finish, and the buttons above and below are now concaved. Wireless charging now comes standard with the device.
